Go to the database here and program in their Motorola 800MHz Type II system. There is a North, Central, and South command. You have to decide which one you'd like to monitor.

Go to the Radioreference home page and click on "Database". When the page comes up click on "NJ" on the map. When the next page comes up click on "Morris County" and when that page comes up click on "New Jersey State System Troop B North." All of the information is right there before your very eyes. You'll have to program the frequencies and "DEC" talk group numbers. I have Uniden scanners so I can't help you program a Radio Shack model, but maybe someone else can. If you have never dealt with trunked systems before, the manuals can be very confusing so maybe someone would be kind enough to get you going.

There's also another excellent reference point for the State Police System at the link below:

This information there may be a little more up to date and current than that on the RR Database as the author updates on a regular basis when he receives new information.

Maybe Central, but not South.

You will not be able to hear the central system from Parsippany except maybe if you put up a high gain directional antenna system. I think the Hunterdon site is the closest central system to you.

Make sure that the display reads MOT all the way to the right of the top line of the screen. If it reads FM, hit your mode button (bottom left) until you change all the frequencies to MOT. That may help.
