Scanner fans it appears there are new KHP Radio Numbers to listen for!!

From KSAL - Salina
Eleven new Kansas Highway Patrol troopers have earned their patrol vehicles just in time to help monitor Kansas roads during Memorial Day weekend. These troopers completed field training to earn newly issued Ford Crown Victoria patrol cars from the Patrol's fleet facility in Topeka. The addition of these troopers is one way the Kansas Highway Patrol hopes to reduce motor vehicle crashes over the holiday weekend. According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, 489 crashes occurred over Memorial Day weekend last year.
Some of their reminders to drivers include making sure to be well rested before driving, having a designated driver if alcohol consumption is involved, and making sure to buckle up. If motorists do need emergency assistance, the Kansas High Patrol dispatchers can be reached with most cell phones by dialing *47 or *KTA.

Actually they've been out since December and they're all on their own already, so you've probably been hearing them since December. The next classes graduates June 1st though. They had to expand the trooper's radio numbers to accomodate the newbies (from 515 to 525), so there are several new ones in the 500's.

I don't think any new ones are going to Saline County. They put out a list when they get hired, but it's been a while. I know Ottawa County has another opening now.
