Is it possible security software - anti-virus/anti-malware, etc - is causing Sentinel's installation some unreported, behind-the-scenes grief?

I use Avast! Premier and disable it temporarily when I install software.

Also, I still would like to see the error message.

well, after looking around found this post on another site

Uninstall Sentinel.
Go to C:\Program Data\Uniden--DELETE Uniden directory and re-install
"Run as Administrator" when installing Sentinel.

Tried that, and did that, installed, opened it up, and BAM, it automatically came up reconstructing database, and finished, was able to update DB, and all seems to be back to GOOD, FINALLY, Thx.

That was my question from post #14 and the advice given by jdcaples in post #5.

Run as admin, yes, but deleting the other stuff I don't see posted here, unless I missed it, regardless, thanks

Had same issue here. I had to actually uninstall Windows 10 and roll back to Windows 8.1. I tried everything under the sun to get Sentinel to run on Windows 10 but could not figure it out.
