Looking at the first picture, I was about to say, where are all the radios! Hope my wife doesn't see that, she'll say, why can't you do something like that?

Nice!

Very nice setup. Looks like that cabinet where the scanners and such are stored was meant for them :) Not sure I'd find it very convenient to change frequencies, adjust volume, etc. from the operating position, but nevertheless very nice. Any wife would be happy with that setup.

Mike

The 780 is strictly for the area ems, keep it on the same vol level, and mute it when I need to with software, the 996 is running through the computer (recording) so volume level again is taken car of via computer volume slider, the 2026 is dedicated to a single freq, set a vol level, and for muting I have installed a pushbutton switch in the RS speaker that bypasses the input (muting it) The 560 is currently just an alternate baby monitor base and it's either on or off, not much for adjustments...really not that much of a pita at all...

Nice set up, but what are those DSP units?
Yes, the dsp units are hooked up to clean up the audio, they are relatively inexpensive and do a great job filtering the audio and make it 'cleaner' sounding..

Ultimately it is my wife's...cause, well, she said so....and she doen't get mad when I spend money on radio stuff, as long as it doesn't get too messy..If she's happy, then so am I.. ;)

Heat buildup?

Do you have any excessive heat buildup if you have everything all on at once or is it vented some way we can't see?

Ah yes, "The now you see 'em, now you don't set up". Very nice ! They all fit in nice and snug. I'm guessing that your shack is in the open, like a living room or dining room ?

>No heat buildup, and I usually have them all on too. No real venting other than about a 1/4" gap around the doors...

>Yes, the shack is 'in the clear' If I put it in a separate room, I'd never see the wife & kids....
