New LTR in Columbus

Children's Hospital seems to have an LTR system on UHF. I don't know how long it's been around, but it's not in the database (until now).

Update:

I now have 2 LCNs figured out. 463.000 is LCN01 and 463.175 is LCN16. 463.150 is still unknown. With this LCN arrangement, 4 channels would make more sense than 3. If there really are 4 channels in the system, the LCN layout would probably look like this:

01 463.000
06 Unknown
11 Maybe 463.150?
16 463.175

This would give 4 LCNs between each channel.

Then again, I may be putting altogether too much thought in to this

Talkgroups so far are:
01-030 Sounds like security
01-031 Sounds like some sort of ER related traffic
16-023 Maintenance
16-101 Some sort of nurse activity

If anybody else can pick this system up I be happy to hear about it. It seems to put out a good signal.[/b]

I'd like to know how they are running a trunked system on frequencies that are licensed as conventional and aren't allowed (per FCC rules) to be part of a trunked system since they are nationwide MED channels.

The way I do it is rather primitive: trial and error. Meaning that I program a frequency in to the system in the scanner and see if I hear any talkgroups on it. If I hear stuff on it, that means that I got the LCN right. I normally listen to the frequency on another radio (in conventional mode) so I can tell if there is activity.

The better way to do it is to use LTRtrack (I think that's what it's called), which is kind of like Trunker for LTR systems. You need a low-pass filter to use this method, however (something that I do not have yet).

Or, if you have a PRO-92 or PRO-2067 you can do it that way.

The PRO-92 will track LTR without LCN entry but Uniden scanners track much better. You can log talkgroups from the PRO-92 but that may only give you one LCN number if everyone is homed to one channel. I don't know of a way to use the PRO-92 to identify the other LCN's in such a system.
