Recently a number of FCC licenses were granted in Madison County late January in the 700mhz public safety band. Nothing has been heard on these frequencies so far. Talking to a local firefighter the word is that they want to do away with there Harris P25 system and switch it out for a Motorola system. with Madison's current system FCC license expiring in mid September of this year, we may see possibly a new system going up sometime this year.

Update to this forum: License successfully identified as Vehicular Range Extenders for selected Madison/Richmond county agency vehicles. OpenSky data has been identified with this but no OpenSky voice nor plans to switch to OpenSky in the foreseeable future.

Yes, they are for MDT's. Only a few vehicles have these to extend the range of the data being broadcasted from the 911 center. So they are VRS for data terminals.
