I've had a Marta scan bank setup for some time to find the expected future P25 control channel for their new system that was approved a few years back...I am now getting the first P25 control signal on 853.250 Sys ID 2974....I am 10 minutes from the Alpharetta N Fulton site and it is coming in almost full bars...anybody else want to verify I'm not hallucinating?

definitely not the old 3600 baud cc...this is the first time I've ever seen a P25 cc on a Marta license...this may be the start of the new Phase II system they bought...it is also one of the Marta frequencies they don't rotate the normal control channels on...and it is not one of those rare Phase II time slot type control channels some newer non-public safety systems use...otherwise my Unication receiver wouldn't have found it...no voice traffic yet

New system has been in build for a while. Fleetmapping being done. Should be live by 1st Q next year from what a birdie told me. They've had their APX NEXTs for over 2 years.
Will the CCs stay the same and just become P2 channels or is their a whole new channel mapping

First voice comms heard today...tg 11519...technicians testing countdowns 1,2,3...

Cool thanks. Can you advise on any other frequencies in use at this time, and the NAC if you know it? I'm happy to get the system set up in the database. Maybe that will attract some others to monitor it as it develops as well.

Almost certainly new channel mapping. I don't think 853.250 - the first CC identified on the P25 system - is a CC on the SmartZone system. My guess is they have transitioned a couple of the voice-only frequencies from the SmartZone system to serve as CCs on the P25 system, and will continue shifting frequencies over to the new system as traffic volume moves over. But people like MTS2000des who have actually been in the trenches of a transition like this would know better how it is typically done.

I will be away from monitoring for a few days...will try to get more info when back if somebody else doesn't...11513 was also being used to do test countdowns yesterday...they are using frequencies from the existing pool...I would image they will just cut over more existing channels to the Phase II system and just alter the emissions in the FCC filings soon.

Im in Atlanta, I will see if I can find any of their new frequencies here. I cannot find the old RR Forum discussing the new system if someone could link it if they know it.

So not sure how to decipher this and which codes to use but I was able to pick this up, I have very very fringe signal (even living downtown)
