Hi,

I'm absolutely new to this. I was wondering what I could pick up with this scanner? It it only Police/EMS/Fire ext.. Or could I pick up things such as public security that drives around my area. Pretty much I'm wondering what the close call feature can pick up?

Looking at Napa county in the database at: Napa County, California (CA) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference the BC125 should be good for listening to public safety. The private security companies should be on a trunked 800 mhz in which case you wouldn't be able to listen to them on the 125. I have a 125 it's a great radio for VHF and UHF. Its good for CHP on the lower end of VHF which would be 42.42 in Napa.
