I just joined this board and am relatively new to scanning. I want to introduce myself to those Oklahomans who frequent this board. As I said I am new to scanning but not to radios and com in general. I paid my way through college by joining the Air National Guard. I was trained in the fields of wideband and ground radio communications systems. Did a lot of work with high power 2 way ground based ground to air tranceivers and point to point microwave systems. Did not spend a lot of time listening to coms that I maintained. Today, I have no interest at all in maintenance or troubleshooting. Just bought a BCD396T and am having a great time just kicking back and listening. Programming it with the ARC396 software was a breeze. Using this site's database I was able to upload all the trunked systems I wanted to monitor in less than 15 minutes. I know this is information that you guys already know all too well, but I just can't conatin my amazement. I am looking forward to learning all I can about scanning from you guys and becoming a member of the local scan community.
