Hey everyone,

I'm looking to purchase a radio scanner to monitor local police agency's chatter. I'm looking at getting the PRO-163 and I wanted to make sure it will be able to listen in on the frequencies in my area. After searching this forum for quite some time I could not get a definite answer. These are the frequencies in my area Fresno County, California (CA) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

I'm most concerned about the Fresno Police Departments frequencies which are :
460.05000
460.27500
460.32500
460.40000
460.47500
460.25000
460.42500
460.02500
460.30000
460.15000
453.52500
153.62000
154.37000
153.84500
153.62000
153.19000
153.31000
154.43000

If anyone could enlighten me, it would very much appreciated

The PRO-163 will work for those frequencies.
Actually, any basic scanner on the market will the frequencies you have listed.

Presently there is no law enforcement or fire (public safety) on a trunked system in your area. If you go to this page, look at the very end and you will see the trunked systems in your area. If you want to monitor one of those systems, then you will want the trunking capability.

The frequencies you have listed that you want to monitor are not trunked so you really don't need to trouble yourself over the trunking setup function.

At the very end of that page is LTR standard for the city of Fresno... It doesn't say who, or if anyone uses it though...
