After years of using consumer grade equipment for my hobby of listening to milair stuff I have decided to spend a bit more and get some new toys. Here is what I have purchased to act as a single frequency DX setup for milair. This should be a great compliment to my scanners.

Angle linear Hi Level PHEMT Preamp custom built by AngleLinear tuned to 225-400Mhz. Approx 20Db gain and less than .5 db Noise figure. WWW.ANGLELINEAR.COM

Lark engineering 225-400Mhz tunable bandpass filter, 5% percent filter. 40db down at 15mhz from center freq at 300mhz and so on in the band. Dial tuned for center freq of pass band from 225-400Mhz. Around .5 db insertion loss. This thing is rack mount too. Kinda cool. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...MEWN:IT&viewitem=&item=250082401411&rd=1&rd=1

As-1604/G Military Log Periodic(of course). Added a CDE Ham II rotor to make this thing a bit easier to deal with. (refer to my previous post for pics of this)

All of this ran into my Icom R8500. I will post pics when i get the preamp and the Bandpass filter in the mail.

Comments welcome..

I Have a source for the Lark filters just like this. The guy has six in stock. If you are interested in one pm me. I also will be writing a review of the filter when I get it in next week to let those interested know how it performs.

I've seen those Lark bandpass units before and I've pondered buying one. I'm interested in hearing about how it performs.
