New TG

Paul,

I do know the 0427 is the new TG for the County VFD per my sources. Possibly for the VFD on the east side of the county. (Pike Road VFD ?)

If 0427 may be Pike Road VFD, does this mean that all the each VFD will have their own talkgroup?

The last time I saw a Mongtomery County Volunteer, he was using a UHF radio. Does anyone know if the VFD's are going to transition over to the trunked system from UHF?

VFD on MTRS

From what I know, all (4) of the VFD groups on the TRS are done by a conventional interface to the system. That means that they use a VHF or UHF radio to receive the VFD radios on the system and that is tied to a VFD TG on the system. So when a vol fireman keys up, the conventional radio at the system receives him and ties him to a TG that is set up on the system. That goes out on the TRS on their TG.

I have heard that Pike Road VFD may go on the system. We'll have to wait and see.

Warren, I think 0420 is Pike Road VFD, not 0427. TYPO on my part earlier. Sorry guys..

I heard 0420 for the first time today on the way home. Pintlala Volunteers were dispatched on Fire South (0417), and I could hear both sides of the transmissions on 0420, as well as Fire North (I was also listening to 453.850 on another scanner.)

Since Pike Road Volunteers may be joining, could 0420 be "Fire East"?

in reponse to my earlier ? on 0337. I see it was "tac 3" on the old msco 5 channel system. My guess is provoice now perhaps

Warren,

That is what I'm told. They now have "all directions covered". Fire North, South, West, and now East. All 4 TGs are tied together.

tg's heard past few days

OK I heard 295 on Saturday about 230pm.. almost exactly 1 year from the date I heard it before.. heard about a "game" & someone left his radio in the car.. WHAT game?? local city football or a county activity??:) also this Morning ( Sunday) I caught radio shop testing on 1777, I know these are Mutual aid TG's & also we all have figured out 799 has been in use all weeks with the Alabama NAtional fair.. wow where TG 610 to round out the group hehe
