Not a mobile repeater, a fixed repeater on Penniman Street, 200 mobiles and a base on 474.1500. Could find, time will tell what it's going to be used for.

Per Scan New England - the new channel is called Channel 5, and it was used as a fireground channel at a larger fire recently.

Does New Bedford FD assign a fireground channel for every fire call, or every box alarm, or every multiple alarm?

All day today this frequency was operating in digital mode with a p25 NAC Code of $868 and this was still new bedford fire. I looked at the license today and it was recently updated on 1/21/2012. The license also has 8K10F1E for its emission code, if I'm not mistaken this is for digital transmissions correct? If I'm wrong please don't hesitate to correct me

You are correct...

8K10F1E = P25 digital voice.

additonal FYI, and if you see 8K10F1D, that means P25 digital data (like a cruiser MDT or telemetry data, etc.). I have only seen one 8K10F1D on a license so far from hundreds of licenses, so it's rare.

The nbfd does have xtl 1500s. Do you ever think they will ever switch permanantly? I really wasn't expecting to hear digital on new bedford fire. I also got a couple of digital hits on channel 1 of 470.5125 with a NAC code of $868 also. Same thing for channel 2, but I didn't hear any voices like somebody was playing around or something
