New Newbie back again

OK, I got rid of the analog scanner, and got a Whistler WS1040. I got it out of the box, followed the quick start guide, and ended up here. I also went to PSREdit.com, and downloaded PSREdit500. My computer does not find my scanner, It wont load what port it is plugged into. I went to the control panel to locate the scanner, and it said that there were no new devices to find. I want to be able to listen to the Clinton County Indiana police, fire and ambulance calls, but have not been able to figure out what I need to do.

The one thing you didn't mention was loading the driver for the cable FIRST, before connecting the cable. Once done, you should look in Device Manager and look for the port it allocated, then make sure PSREdit is pointing to that port...Mike
