Could they be moving away from the 220 system?

Let's pray to god they are, I wonder why they don't hop on the current State systems either the 800 or 700..

What happen in Sandy the 220 system failed, I have spoken to numerous numerous Turnpike employees they say the radios are down more then there up.

Question, can this be another LTR passport system or Turbo ??

The application is for conventional 800 MHz repeaters with plain old analog wideband emissions. No trunking, no digital...at least as far as the license application is concerned.

NJTP/GSP New Frequencies

Ok folks, time for a new adventure challenge here. I've done some research on the licenses, and from what it appears, this may be a new trunked system (or it could be just a bunch of conventional repeater channels). The license shows trunking for the New Gretna site, while all others are Conventional operation so far. Here goes:

As for the Bloomfield site except for the rebanded freq 854 werent these license for several years ? part of thier old system before the 220 stuff.. and i never took them out and monitor everytime I travel those roads not heard anything -yet-

Hello,

Had a chance to talk to someone in the know with the new proposed TP/ GSP system. he tells me there about a year or so away from the new system and that the 220 system has been a complete failure on many accounts, it turns out that the authority leases that radio system, I always wonderful why they just don't jump on the State's 800 or now the new 700 system and be done with it.

I've worked for the NJ Turnpike Authority for 28 years. Although my department doesn't use the 220 radios, I do know they've had their issues. I tried getting some information on what the future plans are, but nobody is talking. My sources all claim to know nothing.
