Norman's radio techs have been testing some new patch capability today with someones Motrbro system. Sounds like a fire dept ( fireground coms were mentioned) perhaps something out of McClain County??
Dunno the talkgroup I heard this on was 50576 which must the Norman's radio tech TG.

I believe that Purcell uses the non-interoperable, proprietary, poorly-spelled MotoTrbo.

Yes, the Norman 911 center director/radio guru is buddy buddy with some guys on Purcell FD. Although I cant see why Norman FD would need to talk to some one in Purcell unless they are having a REAL bad day. I do see a need for EMSTAT to talk to Purcell though.

Well I just report what I hear. Indeed if they have a really bad day they can motxvbtoro with the best of them.

Who covers Purcell? Wadley's? Noble does EMS and EMSSTAT does, but in this state, that means those three also cover the rest of the county even though there is no tax support for it. So I can see having a patch to Purcell just for EMSSTAT.

Can we assume Purcell FD responds on EMS runs with Wadley's (I think it's them) doing ALS and transport?

Peter it seems Wadleys EMS coverage seems to stop south of Goldsby. Rarely have I heard them get too far north on I-35 from Purcell. Norman EMS seems to cover Goldsby and Riverwind some then west on highway 9 is Newcastle.

I think Wadey's stops at Ladd Rd. Almost all of McClain County is using the Mototrbo system now with the exceptions of Newcastle, Blanchard, Byars, and one other I cannot remember. Washington wrote an AFG grant two years ago for the new system. I have yet to hear any complaints from them on it, so far so good.

That seems to confirm what I hear.

Wadley's used to cover a large portion of southern Cleveland County with a subscription service and still provides some service around the Lexington area. Noble EMS is a 522 district (within city limits) and also handles practically everything south to the Lex area and east to the county line.
McClain Grady County EMS is a 522 District that covers the Newcastle, Blanchard and Dibble school districts. Midwwest City EMS covers Moore.
Norman EMSSTAT has mutual aid agreement with Noble and and MWC EMS.

Link to a recent TV piece on Wadley's and EMS legislation.
