I was starting to "see" voice channels on the site 9 with 422.8375(cc) and a talkgroup of MOT: 0596 , but nothing was heard.
Probably because the VC's were:

  • 415.13750
  • 415.35625
  • 415.49375
  • 415.59375

Time to figure out some base, offset and spacing.

Although RCMP is known to have frequencies in the 413MHz range, these look
odd. Doesn't the P25 system transmit the base/offset/step info? Has anyone
been able to track any voice on this system yet?

I'm here a lot
I'm using a base of 415.000 offset 380 and 6.25 KHz spacing and a splinter table (due to the five digit decimal values), seeing TG 501 and 596 appear, but no sound, not even encrypted warbling on those "415" freq.'s. :(

when i go into the options for the p25 system in my scanner, it has the option for the band plan. 422.8375 was also coming in 1 bar, and it wasn't trunking.

422.8375 is not a P25 CC, it's been around for awhile, not sure what
it is but quite strong in Smiths Falls. It's probably an MDT or data link.

Once you find an actual p25 control channel, those will fill in automatically.
if you just can't wait, put in the band plan already posted.

The only published licenses for that frequency in ON and QC are the Inco operations in Sudbury, on what appears to be some kind of trunk system, and some kind of single-frequency (pair) operation in Montreal by the telephone company.

DaveH, if you look back through this thread, you'l find people who have found this frequency in the toronto area, and are able to trunk it. it might be a data link around smith falls, but theres a CC in toronto... not to mention, i cant get smith falls from where i live. the one coming out of toronto was coming in 1 bar and that was only when skip conditions were good.

As unlist said the RCMP are very active in Ontario, you just don't see them. They enforce federal laws in Ontario. Back in the old days you could here lots of stuff going on with them.

I believe the correct name for this new system is: RCMP/GRC Central Region Operation Communication System.

Yours truly,

Ron

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry9700/5.0.0.743 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/107)

Driving up the 400 near Major Mac, I was scrolling thru the sys 36F freqs and found these sites:

421.1625 site 123 (1 bar)
421.5 site 124 (1 bar)
421.6 site 117 (1 bar)
422.8375 site 109 (full bars - strong)

"Bars" referencing the strength level on my 396XT.

I'm on my BB right now - later tonight I may try to post a submission but this is all I have right now.

Gonna be in south/central ON for the weekend so I may have more to offer later.

I'm aware of that, but also that the same noise that's strong in and around Smiths Falls
has been heard out to Kingston or beyond. Given where you are, it is possible that's
what you were hearing, but maybe not.

Yeah, because rolling out a province wide system should only take a couple of months
