Does anybody know if the RCMP system is going to encompass northern ontario or if we're going to forgotten about, just like the government seems to have done.

Doubtful...Currently the only RCMP I hear is in Sudbury,,,sometimes clear...other times not...50/50 I suppose.

I'm surprised too considering that Madoc is a hub of criminal activity.

In my 25+ years of listening to the airwaves, I have never heard any RCMP coms. Always been scanned but nothing...

i've heard some comms, but they've all been ENCRYPTED. i'm willing to bet that this new system around here will be full-time Encryption

New system Possible is here in The North
While scanning around , I nabbed a CC on 422.13750....In Elliot Lake there is no CC's , only OPP...I did a search , low n behold...its RCMP , now I am at the tallest point in the town...the CC may have come from Sudbury , I grabbed it on a Pro 528...so I could not see a sysid...but from scanning a few months ago , it wasn't there....I can only POSSIBLY in Sudbury , On .
If I have time this weekend ( I go on nites soon ) Ill run something that should hail better results.

Does anyone have an audio clip of what the CC sounds like? I have something new here in New Liskeard on 420.0250.

I know of the site and the various sounds of control channels, I just wanted to know if it's a true p25 system or like Fleetnet so I know what to listen for.
The RCMP system is "true" P25. To me, it sounds like a P25 voice channel going constantly (but can't be "converted" to voice by the scanner).

For those of you wondering, here is a newer site with most control channel sounds and lots of others.
The kb9ukd site was good but has been down for awhile.

So did I until I used my search function and found a RCMP Repeater in 90 or 91 at 155.700, even had an auto patch , currently today we have SIG STALKERS , funny you posted this...I got in a habbit of running my SIG STALKER at nite when I sleep , vol down...and in the AM....Peek at what if anything I got....Sunday Morn brought on a Simplex A RCMP FREQ...my my I said.,,,,lil buggers LOL ( was in clear mode too )

So... any new CCs popping up for the NEW SYSTEM? just curious
Haven't seen any activity for a while, but on Toronto East - Bell Tower ID: 721 was coming up most of the day.

the 996xt will mute the audio if it was encrpyted, but that wouldnt explain it just flashing ont he display for a couple seconds

I can't recall seeing the ENC. I was more mesmerized by the the tower location and the talkgroup (which I had never seen before).
I've added the talkgroup to my scanner and I think I'll Set Alert with a fast blink and possibly a red backlight to get my attention if I am near the scanner
