Is the traffic controllers working the new orleans airport. I have been monitoring the tower freqs and not hearing anything. What freqs are they using for all of the air traffic in the area

I don't think there's too much air traffic in the area considering most everything is still under water.
New Orleans Tower is working.

345.0 is the US Coast Guard Primary Operations Frequency

Hello,
I read a status report on the Entergy website yesterday that they restored power to the airport. I saw on CNN today that the airport is very busy.
Today Entergy reported that some transmission lines and substations on the North Shore are energized. Hopefully the North Shore sites of the LA statewide trunked system will be online soon.

AC Power on the North Shore
There are a number of areas that have power. The power was back on in Covington Friday night near I-10 and highway 190 and went spotty north to almost the river in Covington.
As of Monday night, many more areas have had power restored. They even got power up in Folsom today. The center of Folsom now has power. Things are coming back. The people that are way back on the country roads will be a while getting their power back.
The countryside looks like a bunch of match sticks. All the tree tops are missing and the ones that came down are like pickup match sticks on the ground. The main roads were cut open with chain saws and then pushed back with front end loaders. The brush, tree trunks, power poles and wires are all a big tangle mess on the side of the road.
The big problem right now is obtaining enough fuel for the public safety agencies and the utility company's. The fuel trucks are being escorted by police everywhere they go. Some gas stations have been designated as resoration fuel locations and no public cars or trucks are allowed to obtain fuel there. You will find both local police and military people located at these fuel sites.
