I am an ocassional listener to the NO EDACS system when i visit every few weeks. The last few times I monitered I noticed that the traffic on the EMS talkgroups was very minimal. I realize that the call volume has decreased but it seamed to be very quiet.
Have they gone digital for some traffic or to LATIE?

The little traffic that I do hear are unit numbers that I have never heard before, mostly 3000 series numbers not the 6201-6208 before Katrina. Are they using a new numbering system? If so does anyone know what the systems is?

Thanks, what about the unit numbers. The last time I actively listened they were using a 6200 series numbering system. 6201 - first district, 6202 - second district ect. 6232 - "crash unit" 6280 - med control. I am now hearing units in the 3000 series that do not seem to match up with the older system. Anyone know what the new unit numbering system is?

Hey Im a dispatcher for NOEMS ....we are using 3000 #'s now. 3150-3159 are day trucks 3161-3169 are night trucks still using some 6200 #'s for sprint and supervisors etc.. We are running 5-6 trucks at all times.

Yea we still have the crash/rescue truck-6232 als sprint is 6249 supervisor is 6210.....usually running about 2200 calls per month averages to be 7 or 8 items on weekends or 4-5 on weekdays per truck.. Thats down from 5000 calls /month before katrina
