New Owner of SDS-200

Hello. I am a new owner of the SDS-200. I have been lurking for months, watching lots of Youtube videos and set up Sentinel over the last week or so ahead of time. So far have 10 favorite lists. Not many, but still have a lot to learn. Great community here with a lot of good advice and tips!

Welcome to RR. I've had my SDS200 for a couple of months after having been away from scanners for a while. Our area has a lot of simulcast systems and I use my scanner in my truck most of the time. It has worked wonderfully for me. I hope you enjoy using it to monitor your local activity.

Have a look at the easier to read SDS100 & SDS200 manual here. I'd also recommend searching the forum (click here for search results flagged with the SDS200 prefix). Contained within are frequently asked questions, some feedback & much more. I've owned the SDS100 (portable version of SDS200) for 3 years now & it's a champion of simulcast systems.

If you have not already ordered the options to activate the extra voice modes, I would hold off for several weeks until you put your radio through a thorough workout. Once you are comfortable with your radio, I found it best to order one option at a time. I choose DMR as that is the most used in this area.

Thanks for the tip. I only installed DMR on my scanner too.

Thanks! I had DMR preinstalled on my scanner. How did you find all the DMR systems? I will check out the FB owners site too. There is so much to learn!
