Hi all.

I was scanning around today and came across 380.075.. I happened to have Unitrunker running at the time and it came to life when I hit that freq.

It's an APCO P25 system, ID BEEE00-14C

According to the RR database, it's the US Dept. of Defense. Here's the URL:

http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=5341

Thing is, they must be building new sites because none of the sites listed there are anywhere near me for monitoring.

This is exciting! Let's hope the system starts getting some usage soon!

Could be coming from whats left of the Naval facility at the Millington airport. Just a guess.

"What is left" of Memphis NAS is bigger than ever. It has over 50,000 civilian employees and thousands of active-duty Navy personnel. Home of what any old sailors will immediately recognize, BUPERS, or the HR shop of the Navy. Pretty big facility.

It may not be part of that system. There are military systems with a 14C sysid all over the country. 14C may be a Motorola default just as BEE00 is the Motorola default WACN.

What is the site ID displayed on your 996?

I am using Unitrunker.

It says BEE00-14C and then after that one the same line it says 001-018 ..

The BCD996T reports "SID: 014Ch-0118"

I put a Yagi on the PSR500 today and the signal seems to be north of GTown but very weak. The yagi was cut for 450 so the pattern could be a bit distorted at 380.

Drove out to Millington and the sig is coming from the base.

Nice! SO I wonder what the US Dept. of Defense intend to do with it? :)

Anyone know of any info about their P25 system that seems to be unfolding all over the south?
