A child has been pulled from New Port Richey canal after nearly drowning, according to Pasco County Sheriff's spokesperson Doug Tobin. The child is being airlifted to All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg in unknown condition and has not been identified. The child was breathing when he was transported from Floromar Terrace, Tobin said. "The incident happened in a canal where the father was in the water with the child," Tobin stated in a preliminary report. The circumstances surrounding what caused the near-drowning have not been determined. CPR was performed on the child before rescue crews arrived.
