I am trying to program my new Pro 95 scanner with the local frequencies using the Win95 program that I downloaded from the Internet.
SInce I live in the Ft Worth area I am trying to program the Public Safety System into my scanner. I know that they are a trunked system and I have entered all of the system frequencies into the program and then uploaded them to my scanner. The scanner seems to be following the talk groups from the individual frequencies that I entered because I can hear medstar pages and also the hospitals replies. My question is under the FWPD Talk group listings do I need to place in the
DEC values of each division and if so then where do I place them in order to be able to receive their transmissions in the Win95 program. I know that each bank can only hold 100 entrys. So do I need to place the system frequencies in each bank and then enter 25 or so etc. of the Talk groups DEC values?

Thanks in advance for the help. :)

In Win95, look towards the bottom-right portion of your screen and you will see "Alpha Tag", "ID", and "LOut". This is where the talk-group ID's go. If you want the name of that ID to show up rather than the ID itself (like N-CID rather than 3024), then put it in where it says "Alpha Tag". Also, make sure to enable that particular group of ID's by checking the corresponding box under "On". In order for your scanner to receive ONLY what you've got programmed into the ID's, you must run that particular bank in "Closed" mode (a "-" will show up under the bank number while scanning). Otherwise, if in "Open" mode, you will receive all talk-group IDs, whether programmed in or not (a "+" sign will appear under the bank if in "Open" mode).

Ft. Worth is a large system, so you might have to pick and choose which talkgroups you wish to program in. I can email you a .p95 file with Ft.Worth already in it if you would like.

also if you are only wanting to hear certian ID's up on the top of the program check closed and you will only be able to hear the id's that you programmed.
