Man, this thing is a bear to program for a Motorola II system. I finally got it though. What do I need to do to download frequencies off my computer? That would be a lot easier than doing it manually.

Visit www.starrsoft.com

Get the win95 program, and also you will need the data cable that can be pruchased for around $25 at radioshack- cat# 20-289.

Alternatively you could build your own cable. However if your not savvy with electronics, id recommend purchasing the one from radioshack.

Hope this helps.

I just got one too. I enjoy doing it by hand, but this is a lot harder than my Pro94. I don't like the fact that it only has 10 banks, and the sub bank crap. There are 6 districts in Denver, and only 5 sub banks. I just can't decide how to set up my talkgroups. ONE BIG QUESTION; while scanning, if I here someone say "go to tac 3", and it is in Bank One / sub bank one / id 3, HOW IN THE HECK DO I GET THERE QUICKLY?

Pro 95 vs. Pro 94

I think I like the Pro 94 better. Once I get the 95 all programmed I'll probably like it but right now I use the 94 more. It's a lot easier to me.

It is nice having two scanners though. I can hear my local Fire and Police at the same time when there's something big going on. I have a third scanner (Pro 92 I think) but I let my Mom use that one so she can hear Skywarn when the weather gets bad around here.

I'm thinking about buying another desktop scanner and running an antenna outside. Does anyone have suggestions on that?

True, the 94 doesn't have Alpha Tags for Talkgroups to program.

These 5 sub-banks in the 95 provide twice the space for talkgroups then does the 94.

Again, how did you get by with 6 districts in 5 sub-banks of 10 TG's each in the 94? The 95 has 5 sub-banks of 20 TG's each.

When this happens, they have to shift, so the scanner should continue to Scan, when it stops on the new TG (tac 3) press and hold TRUNK. You can do this on any TG to hold it through the conversation. You can not pre-select the TG on this scanner like on the 94.

After reviewing Denver Public Safety EDACS Standard on this site, it appears the Pro-95 can scan all listed talkgroups in two scanner banks and have 49 spare talkgroup locations. The Pro-94 will take 4 scanner banks to do exactly the same thing.

thanks for the "press and hold trunk tip" DUH?? I cant beleive i didnt know that--
really helps me out, like when listening to an interior fire figther on Tac 3, and it switches to the dog warden aboout the poodle barking--used to REALLY annoy me, now i can just push trunk--thanks
