new PRO-96

I got my pro-96 today!! and I have spent the day programing. Win96 makes it a snap to program. I have already changed the V-scanner files and right now only have 2 programed. I am sure as time goes one I will have all of them programed to my liking. One thing I like with 96 over my 95 is a better back light and the lighted keypad. Now I just need to get a good mobile antenna. The glass mount is coming off soon!!!!

I haven't noticed anything yet. I know there is a small spot like that on my pro95 but you can only see it with the back light on

I also have that bloch on my PRO96 when the back lite is on, i believe on the www.strongsignals.net board some one wrote how they took apart the readout and cleaned off that bloch of dirt...

I've had a very small, similar blotch on my pro-93....ever since I got it....only evident when the backlight is on....not a big issue.

HAHA no big deal about the hijack. I am really enjoying this new radio. I am going to start working on a good way to mount it in the car. I will probably work on something that will hold both the 96 and the 95. If I do that I will probably get two good antennas. I just have to decide whether I want to use mag mounts or go with permanent mount antennas. My car will provide a very good ground plane for permanent mount antennas, a full size ford wagon.

Does it look like a light spot - oval shaped? If so, it's the light diffuser not aligned properly. I've fixed one of those already. Others say it needs 'cleaned', but it's not a dirt issue - it's an alignment issue. The diffuser is not seated properly.
