• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I haven't owned a scanner in years, so I picked up a Pro-97 today. After some brief aggravation due to ignorance on my part, I was able to get Harris County STARnet uploaded, which is mainly what I wanted to listen to. I'm in NW Harris County, and mainly listen to the S.O. and Constables. This site is informative, and thanks for the info! If anyone else in my area (Cypress) has any tips, let me have 'em!

You may want to put the DPS on there too. 2630 Houston works around your area a lot, and it's nice to listen to him on U.S. 290. Cy-Fair VFD is 453.600. That covers your area. Anymore question, drop me a PM.
