New Pro106 now scans ultra slow, receives nothing

Yeah... I fully agree with everyone else about getting the cable and software. It opens up a whole new world for these scanners. Make that the next accessory purchase on your list.

RS employees know these scanners are complicated, they can't figure them out themselves, and tend to blame users for all of the faults since they can't help. In reality, they are pretty much bulletproof. About the only way you're going to hurt them is via physical damage.

Not a bad policy actually, IMHO.

I got my GRE 106 (yes, I know, but... hey... same thing) and exclusively used software from day 1.

Yesterday, I was upstairs, away from the pooter, and realized, that even a most basic adjustment took me several minutes to figure out via the keyboard.:roll:

So, I have been forcing myself to do things "manually" just to learn the device directly as well.
