New PSR-500 firmware

Could upgrading the scanner make some of the analog channels not come in like they use to. Because lately I have not been hearing some of the analog channels that use to come in and I know they did not change frequencies or go digital.

Ok, I bought my GRE at HRO in the U.S. My scanner shows the following:

uP Boot Ver: F 1.4
uP Appl Ver: U 1.8
CPU SW Upgrade
Wait for PC/IF

Do I have the recent versions loaded?? I don't see DSP anywhere....

Yes. you are up to date if DSP is 1.4

This is the indication when you hold PGM while turning scanner on for CPU Update Utility 1.8.
A pretest of firmware can be made by holding 3 when turning scanner on. This test should indicate:
U1.8
U1.4
F1.4
If top two are different then you need to run the updater utility for each accordingly starting with F1.4_U1.8.exe.

F1.0 Your post shows F1.4, did I miss an update?

OOPs, never mind. The F1.0 is simply the Boot Version.

When upgrading CPU you need to set scanner as above.

To determine current scanner firmware, hold 3 during turn on.
