I just purchased one of the new Radio Shack Pro-106 scanners, I can't believe I paid only $ 300.00 for this radio NEW. I got home with it, and carefully unpacked the radio, I took out the instructions and started to read about this new technology.6 hours later, I checked the instructions that came with the radio, with over 350 cities and municpalities except the city I live in. Minneapolis Minnesota, so I am sitting here going now what am I going to do with this radio, I was just about to pack it all back up and take it back to Radio Shack but for the price, even if it does'nt scan nothing, its nice to look at. I have heard that Scannermaster sells a software program, called Butel AOR, and the person I talked to at scannermaster, asked me if I have ever programmed a digital scanner from a computor using software for the radio, I told him, No, I have two Pro-96s, but I was very lucky to have found a friend that is a manager of a Radio Shack store that helped me with the programming of the scanner. The person at Scannermaster told me that the Butel software is very easy to use, it will tell you what you need to do, he also said ask for help at the Radio Shack store, were you purchased the scannner. So life is not so bad, here I have this new scanner that has LED's that flash thousands of colors and audible signals and everything eles you could want in a scanner, and all I can do is look at it. I guess that's not to bad, at least I have one. Its nice.
