I got a great Christmas bonus this year and took advantage of the Yaesu sales HRO was having. I bought a FT-2D and FTM-400XDR and the RT Systems software for both. I got the mobile installed and both of them programmed basically the same. All in all they both look like very solid radios with lots of features. Now I've just got to sit down with them both and figure out how everything works. Oh yeah, I even let the wife buy what she wanted out of the bonus. Now I've got craft stuff littering the house even more than before.

Sonds good.

I also got a bonus yesterday and just order an FT70DR with the $50 off. Wanted to try out Fusion and it's a great deal.

Don't think will buy any other radios with the bonus, since a few weeks ago purchased a new car to replace a 15 year old one with 283k miles.

Yes the 400XDR is a great radio.. Gonna pick up a new second one myself at that price.
It does a lot.. I like the crossband feature so I can be inside a building with an HT with little UHF
rubber ducky and crossband into the 400 in vehicle parked outside for great signal to a 2 meter repeater.
Article in December QST mag shows how to use the 400 APRS feature to make text contacts via the
Space Station APRS repeater..
