Does anyone know what frequencies the Saugeen Shores PD in Ontario (formally Port Elgin\Southampton) are using now? The former VHF frequencies don't work anymore. They were being dispatched out of Owen Sound. They now have 2 antennas on their cars, one being quite high...

Try searching in the 140-174 range. I know that one of the Saugeen Shores frequencies was in use over in the Simcoe county area on a Fleetnet site, although I can't recall which frequency it was.

If you're still having no luck the next time I'm in the Bruce I'll see if I can suss anything out.

works

I listen to em all the time.
142.4250
They have another frequency on the database that comes in very weak, I think maybe a secondary dispatch?

For south not port.

really?
that is really weird
it is pretty quiet during the day, but in evening I get a lot of chatter.
mind you it is a small police station, and the southampton frequency i think 142.6350 or whatever it is doesn't have a whole lot if any.
especially a friday or sat night later on, with the bars being busy you should pick up a lot of chatter on the police freq.
especially next weekend being long weekend, that freq. will be jam packed.
do you pickup the ambulances on 149.44?
try tuning in just before 7am and 8am on that freq
they always do a radio check from durham, wiarton, hanover, etc.
i manage to at least pick up one or two of them at 7am or 8am each morning

142.4250 comes in perfectly clear on my bct-8 with telescoping standard antenna

id say some chatter every few minutes something happens even if its just a radio check.

i also added southampton marina and i get some chatter from there too, but very little usually first thing in the am around 8

update

captaind
When we had that huge thunderstorm, I don't know if it was better reception in the air or what, but 139.8 I picked up several police in their cruisers talking to each other and from the plex at the station.

That's the other station I occasionally pick up stuff but not often.

149.440 is the paging frequency for EMS. You won't hear any details on 149.440 other than a brief description of the call and the priority code associated with it as the frequency is being used to page paramedics to their vehicles.

As for 139.800, that's funny. I'll have to take a listen to it this weekend and see if I can hear anything. Perhaps the frequency for Southampton isn't in use any more.

I know I heard traffic on one of those two SS frequencies and also picked up a PL tone last weekend...I submitted the info to the database, and the second frequency was silent as all hell.

the 142.4650 or whichever the second one for southampton is, i've only heard it used once.
the 142.4250 is what they talk on for south too now.
the 139.80 i did hear it just that one night.
i get a lot of 149.44 for the ambulance dispatch, i have all the other freq's programmed in but i never pickup anything but the short dispatch, are the actual voice comms on the other freq's listed in the database and i am just too far away to hear most of them?

last night was a good one
police had to track down some kids who stole a county tractor and was driving it down the road to sauble beach :D

Grey Bruce Ambulance

CODE 8 is definately stand by

Bruce Grey ambulance has move to Bell Fleetnet Trunking system. I just bought a trunking radio and found them on there. Not sure when they moved but talked with a Paramedic last week and she confirmed the switch. This will give you the frequencies they are on if you have a trunking scanner.
