Need help and this may have been answered before. The SD Card in my Whistler Scanner is corrupted. I want to put in a new card with the data new as if it came from the factory. What are the steps I need to do to make that happen. Thanks
Your scanner card likely came preloaded with an outdated version of the RadioReference database library, a copy of EZ Scan, and an empty scanner configuration file. You didn't lose anything.
You can download EZ Scan from the link in first paragraph of this webpage: Digital Frequency Quick Import (I post my website because Whistler has a history of changing the download URL. I can't edit old hyperlinks in RR forum posts but I do keep the link up to date on my website).
Once you download and install EZ Scan, update the library on both your PC and scanner, and you are good to go--even better than before.
This is not an uncommon occurrence. Whistler should be including an addendum instruction sheet regarding SD card issues; I bet it would really cut down on the amount of returns the dealers have to take the loss on.
Keep in mind that cards can fail at any time, so be sure to keep a backup of your files and any audio recordings of interest. Many of us keep a spare SD card loaded with all of the configurations and read to go. This is good to have on hand if you run out of recording space or if your primary card fails.
