How do I fix error 425?

Resolving The Problem

Any data connection type command (dir, put, get, and so on) fails with an FTP 425 message. The Microsoft® Windows® operating system on the PC is implementing a PC side firewall that restricts port 20 for the data connection. Ending and removing the PC side firewall resolves the issue.Jun 20, 2023
With all due respect, turning off your firewall for an outbound port request if not the answer and just plain wrong for security protocols; especially since this environment has been working for ALL previous updates! Thanks for the comments; however, if this is Uniden's expectations, then the SDS scanners are moving front and center to the for-sale line, and I'll simply use SDR's that do not have this restriction.

I'll give you $50 + Shipping for the piece of junk :ROFLMAO:
You guys are too funny... New Years Eve is tomorrow, did you started drinking a little early? Problem was resolved by retrieving the .bin files from another helpful member; updated and moved on and will check back to see if Uniden resolves their server issues after the holidays. Happy scanning folks!

The point is that the problem is on your end, not Uniden’s. @donc13 just posted something to help you troubleshoot your issue.

Rest assured this issue IS NOT on my end. I have never had any issues connecting to Uniden's servers via Sentinel outside of today's event; I've updated as recently as last week when the waterfall enhancement was introduced and did not encounter any issues, same PC, same network, same Sentinel install; but hey, if disabling firewall ports is your thing, then you do you and good luck with your online security...

And magically, after publicly reporting this issue in this forum AND with having made NO CHANGES on my end whatsoever, I reconnected all three scanners and both database and firmware upgrades are working as normal; but the problem was on my end... Anyway, resolved now, not sure what the root cause was, but I do know without a doubt it's not my internal issue on my end and has nothing to do with firewalls not allowing outbound port requests... Happy scanning and New Years folks...

To keep it on target, I just updated my SDS100 with no problem. There was no sub update, just the primary one. Main: 1.23.03
Sub 1.03.02. I haven't been listening long enough since the update to know if the signal is better, worse, or the same. Key Lock works.

I just did the update on my SDS. No problems, but I can't figure out how to activate the key lock.

Is that cycling the power off than on? I tried Function and then pressing the power button, but that just changed the illumination level.

press and release function button then press and release power button
Just done this on both sds100's with firmware 1.23.03
and it works
Do not confuse FUNCTION with MENU it is the little small button above menu on the left side of your sds100
