I came across a new site #0221 with a CC of 773.5937. I am trying to find out where this site is located. All of the traffic on this site that I am picking up is Lafourche and Terrebonne traffic, Lets me know this site is somewhere in that area.
I originally had this CC programmed as the Blond site (168/215). All traffic was from that area until now I am getting different traffic for the Houma/Thib. area with a site # 0221.
Anyone can help identify this site location.

Also looking for another new site that is not listed in the DB. Site Number #0349, CC 774.0812.
I am receiving Avoyelles and Troop E traffic on this one. It appears it is some distance from me, just receiving some skip tonight. Wanted to identify it so we can get it updated in the DB.

Probably new site in Montegut.

That is the Blond CC, and depending where you are, you could have been able to receive them both. Probably not the best selection of CCs... a bit too close. Since it is new, it may be changed after this is realized.

This confused the heck out of me, as well.

That sort of explains it. I did not know they were puting one in Montegut. I am really surprised that they are putting one there since it so close to the one in Theriot. Must have been a dead spot in that area. I am closer to the Theriot site than the Montegut area and see that I can recieve site 221 stronger than the Theriot site.
And yes I notice this morning Blond and site 221 are conflecting. Scanner can't make it's mind up on which one to listen to. Actually the cc is nothing but static trying to lock in.

Thanks to some monstrous ducting through the night/morning (again) I was able to snag this one too.

Probably exactly right about Montegut. It's right in the middle of ring of neighbor sites.

It's a little over 80 air miles between Blond and Montegut which is plenty of separation. Some freqs. are reused in MSWIN with less distance than that.

They did put a new tower in Montegut because of dead spots in the Chauvin/Grand Caillou area.
When I scan for towers on my XTS2500 it's connects to Site 21, the Montegut tower .
Before they put the tower in Montegut, All portables were connected to Site 74, the Theriot tower and we never had good signal.

The new Montegut tower was finished last month, around the 15th.

Is it mostly fire departments yall are catching on this site?

Where is this Blond site located?

Thanks for the update.
As for as the Blond Tower site it appears it is located somewhere on the northshore. I use to be able to pick that site up almost everynight and early morning. Now the new Montgut tower is interferring with that signal all because I so much clser to Montegut than the Blond site. This morning there was so much ducting till I was picking up the Blond site and not the Montegut Site. Not only that one but there were many other sites I was picking up from a furthur distance and not able to receive any of the local toweres. The ones furthur away were stonger reception than the closer ones.
Also as for as the Blond site being on the same cc as Montegut there may be a little confusion in the DB I am trying to confirm. It actually may in fact be the Wilmer site that is the same CC as Montegut. So instead of being Blond site interferring it may be Wilmer. That site is not too far from Blond. I am able to receive the Wilmer site often as well. Hope this helps and some can try help us figure which site is which out of the Blond and Wilmer sites with the correct matching site number and CC.
