Fire Dispatch

OK then why is IFD dispatching Speedway Engine 201,Beech Grove Engine 102,*On Marion County Fire Dispatch and Not only is*RoboReta* dispatching them but also *RoboReta* is dispacthing City of Lawerence and Airport Fire on *Their Fire Dispatch Talkgroups* If IFD was not gong to merge with all the above there would be "Live dispatching*.Also I talked with The Speedway Fire Chief who happens to be a very close family friend that I have known for years and he told me that when he went to The last Marion County Fire Chiefs meeting that *Was not open to the public* a couple of weeks ago A board member from IFD told all of them that *IFD was taking over control of all County Township Fire Departments and changes are being made for the Merger*He was also told that there would would be no more Township Fire Departments and all the Trucks setting in there stations would have a IFD doorshield on the side of the door along with "Indianapolis Fire Department" on the cab of the Engine, Medic,Ladder, etc. Also a contact with Mayor Ballards office was there and he said the Mayor is moving on this to get the job done. Also all current County Firefighters would become IFD Firefighters after the station numbers are changed, truck numbers get NEW numbers and the current firefighters do paperwork with IFD to get there benifits thru The City Of Indianapolis. This is the current infomation direct from the source!!!!

#1 Live (as in an actual dispatcher) hasn't been done by any fire PSAP since the new Locution FHAS went online. The airport was the last to go on the system a few weeks ago. Live dispatching is done by IFD at times (usually monthly) to keep the dispatchers up to speed or when the system is down for some reason. The system was down today for server moves.
#2 Dispatchers can send their dispatch out over any talkgroup that they select for whatever reason they so desire. All PSAPs share the same database for the Locution Fire House Alerting System. All PSAPs get the same automated voice.
#3 Legislation has again been intoduced this session that would consolidate the township fire departments into IFD. It's just a proposal. The mayor is always moving forward with voluntary consolidation.
#4 Number changes are being made to accomodate the new fire records system.
#5 No one from IFD said any such thing. IFD has no authority "to take control of all county township fire departments".

How do you figure that? IFD was dispatching for the township departments long before there was any talk of a merger. That's a non sequitur. Also, there has never been any consideration of the excluded cities merging their fire departments with IFD.

A board member from IFD told all of them that *IFD was taking over control of all County Township Fire Departments and changes are being made for the Merger*He was also told that there would would be no more Township Fire Departments and all the Trucks setting in there stations would have a IFD doorshield on the side of the door along with "Indianapolis Fire Department" on the cab of the Engine, Medic,Ladder, etc.

You're probably misinterpreting that. That will most likely be the case at some point in the future, but as stated above, the city has no authority to unilaterally take over township FD's unless the legislature passes a law to that effect. Some of the townships, namely Pike and Wayne, have no plans to merge voluntarily.

Lawrence Twp had to renumber for technical reasons, and they chose IFD numbers because they are in the process of merging voluntarily.

The mayor is in fact moving to get this done, but he can't complete the process without cooperation from all 8 townships, or authority from the General Assembly. One of the two is needed.

This is the current infomation direct from the source!!!!

No it isn't. It's secondhand information that you are misinterpreting.
