New Suffolk TRS TG?

Last night at a fatal MVA on the Northern State Parkway TG-3696 poped up with a Troop L unit requesting that "Farmingdale" [Troop HQ] have "Inforn" [highway information signs run by the state] put up the parkway closings on their signs. Since Troop L no longer uses their long time vhf [155.46] freq, is this a thing of the future?

I do not believe 3696 is being used by the NYSP. I did moniter theat incident and I got the impression that this talkgroup is being used by a town DPS, like Brookhaven on 3536. My two cents.

Its certainly not being used for dispatch, but with Farmingdale answering an "L" unit, maybe its a supervisory channel.
