In a previous post, I stated approximately 196 radios have been programmed for W&M. I have been told that the cost is around $3,000 per radio. Doing the math, that's about $600,000 for radios. This cost does not include any fee for utilization of the system. Does anyone have any idea how W&M funded this purchase? Also, I have heard a rumor that several commercial businesses in the Williamsburg area may be allowed on the Williamsburg/James City/York County digital system. In researching the license (WQAW910) is for "YF - Public Safety Ntl Plan, 821-824/866-869 MHz, Trunked." Further, the license allocates for 1800 mobile radios. According to my PRO96com program, there have been 1775 radios seen on the system. The question I pose is can this system be used for other than "government public safety" and can they exceed 1800 radios?
