Although Sharp Co. has a couple mobile AWIN radios and some handhelds, I am fairly certain there are no plans to change over to using AWIN full time instead of the local system anytime soon. For one thing, the coverage here is just not very good. We have AWIN radios in our ambulances, and there are several places where there is little or no signal.
That said, there is a talkgroup assigned to Sharp Co. I was at a presentation that was put on back when this stuff was first getting started up, and I remember they passed out a list of how the county radios were programmed, and one of the talkgroup selections was a dedicated TG for Sharp Co. I was under the impression at the time that each county had one assigned, even if it wasn't in full time use. That was a long time ago so I could be remembering wrong.
