Hello everyone! I'm brand new here and looking to learn about DMR. I have been fascinated with radio and have had scanners since I was a kid. I never really got into DMR mainly since I haven't had time to learn. Long story short, I work security in a store located within a large mall. Our department uses analog radios and we used an analog scanner to listen to mall security. The mall recently upgraded to DMR and I purchased a cheap TYT MD-380 for the simple task of listening to their one channel. Well... I have the frequency, color code, time slot, and talk group programmed into the MD-380 for RX only and receive nothing on their channel, even when one their officers was with me and had radio traffic coming through. I also programmed my store's analog frequency in and it works fine. I tried several other DMR systems in the area and still only receive analog radio traffic. Is there anything I'm missing to get DMR to work right. Feel free to give me any other pointers as well.
