Hi there, I’m new to scanning in general, and don’t have a whole lot of experience. I’ve recently picked up a SDS100 with the DMR and NXDN upgrades. I’m trying to scan This and can’t seem to pick anything up. I can’t tell if I’m doing something wrong or if there isn’t anything to scan there.
I managed to get the control frequencies of the Mount Seymour repeater manually entered and I can receive it and it reads as digital. Just wondering if someone in the area with a little more experience is able to see if it’s quiet or I’m doing something wrong.
Thanks

Welcome to the community @Arcane98523

The WTS UHF NXDN system you are referencing is usually pretty busy, especially on the Seymour site and during weekdays.

To be honest, I have no first hand experience with the SDS100 but you may need to put it in ID Search mode if that is even an option. As some or most of the talkgroups in RR DB for this system may not be too busy or no may even longer exist.

With that said, I have heard a few transmissions on there in the last 10 minutes or so (see below).

Not sure if you are familiar with Discord at all but a few of us locals have a BC Scanning Server setup. Feel free to reach out on there, I would be happy to help you troubleshoot further. Join the ScanBC Discord Server!

Hey, thanks for the invite. I’ve gone into Discovery Mode on the SDS100 and am getting some hits. So looks like some of the tg id are undocumented. As well, it appears that the stock antenna at my house is just slightly too weak. Looks like it has a tendency to lose the digital connection and revert to analog occasionally. I’ve swapped out to a random antenna I found in my house and that seems to have helped. Thanks for the help.

They mainly will be because it is a rental based system, temp use or otherwise. I can help you as I have the same scanner and tell you what you need to know. Based on that photo, your signal strength is sufficient to hear that system.
