I am new to the area; I live between Dubuque and Cedar Rapids and will be monitoring police and fire on conventional frequencies and trunked systems. If you have any frequencies to share I would appreciate it very much.

Hey man, welcome to the site.

http://radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&stid=19

Check here for frequencies for whichever area you need. I'm not sure of the counties you need, since I do not live in Iowa, but, it should be a start.

I know a long time ago, Radio Shack stores used to have a "starter" set of frequencies, that they would sometimes have when someone buys a new scanner. That could have just been the one RS I used to shop at. *shrugs*

But, welcome aboard, and feel free to ask questions.

If you're in Dubuque, you might be able to get some Jo Daviess County, IL traffic as well.

Later.

Can you narrow it down to the county and what part it is? Jones Co SO 151.295 and Linn Co SO on 155.145 are good to start. Delaware and Jackson Co SO's both use 154.860 as Dispatch (simplex though) You should be able to hear DPS in Post 10 155.565/155.7, Post 11 155.655/155.685 & Post 12 155.64/155.79

Splash1 and kc0jar I will take all the help I can get. I am really getting confused with a new scanner a Uniden BR330T. I am used to the old banked conventional easy to program scanners, but I knew it was time to upgrade so I am learning all over and have ordered some programming software, new data base books and other equiptment.

Any help with frequencies would be a great help.

I am looking for fire and police frequencies mostly but I also monitor air craft and other government frequencies. If you have anything interesting I am all ears.

Info

I noticed Anmosa has 155.8500 as car to car for the PD. It's a statewide police channel for HTs and mainly used for car to traffic too.
