New to Oklahoma

I'm new to Oklahoma but not to Radio Reference. I moved to Enid last fall and just thought I would introduce my self and see if there was anyone on the OK forum from the Enid area. The forum seems pretty active and appears to have a few amateurs as well. Good day to all.

Thanks for the warm welcome, I am from the northern IL Chicago area, though for the last 6 years prior to moving to OK I was in southern IL near St. Louis. I was in the Air Force in Belleville, Illinois and once I got out I was offered a job out here. I've been an air traffic controller for 8 years and am working at WDG Enid Woodring airport.

Anyways I'm pretty heavy into the hobby and it consumes most of my free time. I enjoy the technical aspects of the hobby so more often then not I'll be building it bigger and better while I'm missing all the action LOL. If anyone is a ham get a hold of me and we'll have a QSO some time, if your not, get a hold of me and I'll find something about the hobby that will spark your interest and hopefully we can get you licensed.

That's great Scott! Glad to hear it! It will be nice to have someone in the Enid/Garfield County area who can keep us up to date on changes in frequencies etc. Let me start you off with a couple of links that you may or may not already have...

Thanks PJ, I have had the local countys set up even before I moved here, just to get a head start on loading up the scanners and radios. The repeater site is great, have not seen that before. Sure beats looking up everything in the book, and seems that it is quite up to date. I would like to make the hamfest out there near Tulsa, but I alreay have a lot going for the weekend, but please let me know when others are comming up. Thanks again!
