Hi all, I'm new to monitoring the railroad, when I was little I used to love trains and me and my grandfather used to sit in his car and watch trains pass when he died I kind of lost interest but when me and my fiancé went to manhattan we took the train down so I've started becoming more interested and now being older and into radios I've started listening to railroad comms. I programmed all of the channels into my scanner but the only thing I ever seem to hear is rail police and brief transmissions on 161.400 when it is pulling into the woodbine yard ( I am in spring valley and the yard is located a few streets down) are there any other channels other than this that might have more acitvity in my area? Thank you and sorry about the long post.
