I added several talk groups to my 1040 from radioreference, and I think it is scanning, but I can't hear anything. How do I know that the scanner is scanning what I uploaded, and if I don't hear anything, did I upload something not compatible with the scanner...?

Not sure where you are at and what you loaded but you might check in the state forum and see if a local person may have more up to date info for you. Welcome to RR
