Hello,
I am looking at trying my hand at this hobby, and need to decide on a scanner first, I am located the manitoba Interlake area (actually north of winnipeg & south of selkirk otherwise known as lockport),
I would like to get semi basic unit to start with and was looking at the UNIDEN - BCT8 or BCT15 models and was hoping for some input as to if these are sufficent units for my area ,
I checked the frequency list located here hxxp://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=537 and came up with the info posted below and was unsure but hoping these units would be able pick-up manitobas MTS fleetnet with the TrunkTracker III units or do you have to have a scanner that also has digital & APCO-25 option to listen to Fire/Police/Ambulance (I have a ambulance/firehall 1/2 mile from my house and there is always some action coming / going from there)

Any input would be apreciated, Thanks in advance

while the digital will cost you more (or less if you buy used) ie BC796D older Pro96-2096 (not available at stores in Canada) you will not regret having P25 scanner for your neck of the woods.
