Greetings everyone,
A little info about me I've been a radio enthusiast for several years now. I'm currently studying for my technician class license. I'm mostly active on FRS, CB, and scanning. While I used to use a cheap baofeng uv5r for a scanner my local emergency services have gone digital. APCO P25 phase II to be exact. I really miss listening to the scanner as CB radio is about dead in my area. I've been doing some research in to digital scanners and I can't justify $300+ to the wife at the moment. So I started looking into SDR and it seems that with my current windows PC I would be unable to listen to a phase II P25 system. I've been looking into getting a raspberry pi b3 as that seems to be the cheapest way to go. I have a few questions if anyone has time I'm extremely green to anything linux and worried I'd be ran off with in depth technical jargon if I posted in the sdr forum. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
