That depends on what trunking systems you want to listen to. There are different types of trunking systems. The most common are Motorola, EDACS, and LTR, and it can vary on what scanner moniors said trunking system. But, for the Gadsden area, if you just want to listen to the
Gadsden Public Safety system, you would just need a scanner that tracks EDACS. Now, if you also want to listen to the
McCord Communications system, you would need a scanner that tracks LTR.
Even if you don't want to listen to many other trunking systems now, you may want to at a later date. So, if your budget allows it, I would get a scanner that monitors all of the trunking systems. I recommend the Uniden BCT15.
