TJ, first time scanner users usually have programming problems as I did as well. But when you post a request, it's easier to get help by being a little more specific. I have owned the 2051 in the past and didn't care for it due to it's inability to track trunking systems as well as conventional ones at the same time. I found the instructions somewhat complicated, but, straightforward at the same time. My suggestions is to first print out the info for your system, which is right here, then start your input one step at a time as instructed. I found dealing with trunked systems and Trunking scanners somewhat frustrating until I got the hang of it. You may also want to consisder programming software to ease the pain of progarmming.
