The tones that were changed were for siren activation only. There were several around the county that were out of the range that is acceptable for use in the current frequency range that the county is now using. They were getting them to work by overdriving them and it was creating volume issues between the voice and tones. Hopefully the change will even out the volume between the tones and the voice so that the tones don't deafen you and you can still hear the voice.

Thanks for the help. I came to that conclusion also as I listened to the radio over the weekend. I heard tones that sounded different. Hopefully my decoder can figure out what they are. Are they a good idea to include that tone in my pager or should I leave my reqular tones only in the pager?

Thanks. I have an idea that might work. According to my scanner at home frequency 453.625 still works. How about shutting off this frequency and transferring the power over to frequency 151.3775? I don't know much about radio work but for some reason 453.625 sounds better than 151.3775. This was just an idea might not even work
